Under Morrison, democracy, integrity and transparency plumb new depths

'I'll take that on notice’, 'I move the question not be heard’, and other avoidance tactics are all signs of an abuse of power and a government with things to hide.

Many Australians are now deeply concerned with the dramatic rise in corruption with the current federal government as it continues to throw a veil of secrecy over deals and decisions that are designed to keep us in the dark.

There have been at least 124 government corruption scandals to date under Morrison’s leadership, including the most recent and astounding scandal in which government senators have blocked an inquiry into whether Christian Porter is ‘fit and proper’ to be a minister.

It’s no surprise that Australia’s status as an open transparent democracy was downgraded from ‘open’' to ‘narrowed’ in 2019 by CIVICUS - we can't even get the alleged sexual abuse allegations investigated.

Our democracy is plummeting to new depths.

This is why we need an #Independent4Goldstein
